To answer my own question...

pre-client: ; su postgres -c "/usr/bin/pg_dumpall | /bin/gzip >
/var/lib/pgsql/backups/pgdumpall.%Y%m%d.gz"
post-client: ; /bin/rm -f /var/lib/pgsql/backups/pgdumpall.%Y%m%d.gz

Changed to:

pre-client: ; su - postgres -c "/usr/bin/pg_dumpall | /bin/gzip >
/var/lib/pgsql/backups/pgdumpall.%Y%m%d.gz"
post-client: ; /bin/rm -f /var/lib/pgsql/backups/pgdumpall.%Y%m%d.gz

One dash to squelch this error message.

-Mike
